Delete your account and data

Delete your account in the app, or ask us to delete it if you no longer have the app.

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Portrait Art has not launched yet. This page describes how the service will handle your information from launch; nothing described here is processing anyone’s data today. We will update this page if anything changes before launch.

1. Delete in the app

Open Portrait Art and go to Account → Delete account and data, then confirm. You need an internet connection: our service confirms the deletion first, then the app clears this device. If the connection fails, nothing is deleted and you can try again; if the device cleanup is interrupted, it finishes the next time you open the app.

Deletion takes effect on our service immediately, and the app tells you when it is done. If a portrait is being painted at that moment, its last records are removed within minutes, as soon as that work stops.

2. If you no longer have the app

With a recovery code: install Portrait Art, open Account → Recovery code, enter your code and tap Restore account, then delete the account as above. Or email us the code (see below) and we will delete the account for you.

Without a recovery code: accounts are anonymous, so we need something that links you to one. If you subscribed, send the order ID from your App Store or Google Play receipt.

Email support@smartharmonyai.com with the subject Portrait Art account deletion request. Do not send passwords or card numbers. We reply within 30 days, and confirm when your account has been deleted or explain any limitation.

Email a deletion request

If you never saved a recovery code and never bought anything, we cannot match a request to an account. Such an account holds no photos beyond the short periods in our Privacy Policy, and no validation-cache identifier for longer than 30 days, and any introductory free credits in it cannot be used from anywhere else.

3. What is deleted

  • Your account credential, recovery code and push notification tokens.
  • Your commissions, and any photo or piece still held on our service.
  • The validation-cache identifiers kept for your photos (a hash of each photo file, tied to your account) and the results of the automated photo assessment.
  • Your credit wallet is closed and any unused credits are lost; it can never be used again. Commissions in progress are cancelled and their credits returned before the wallet closes.
  • Records of recovery-code use, and the links between your account and this app installation used for our own measurement.
  • When you delete in the app: the photos and pieces stored in Portrait Art on that device. Copies you saved to your photo library or shared elsewhere are outside the app and are not removed.

Deletion cannot be undone. Pieces are added to your photo library when they finish, unless you turned that off in Account → Photos; save any others you want to keep first.

4. What is kept, why, and for how long

We keep only what we need for security, fraud prevention or legal (accounting, tax) obligations, and delete it automatically when its period ends. These periods are our own choices; Apple and Google require deletion on request and that we tell you what we keep and why, but do not set the periods.

  • A deletion record: the anonymous account identifier, when it was deleted, how the deletion was requested and, for email requests, how ownership was confirmed. Why: evidence that we carried out the request, and fraud prevention. Kept 2 years after deletion.
  • Credit and purchase records (the closed wallet’s credit history, purchases and refunds; no photos). Why: accounting and tax law, and handling refunds. Kept 7 years after the transaction; a deleted account’s records are removed together once its most recent one is 7 years old.
  • Payments that arrive after deletion are never granted; a minimal record is kept so they can be refunded. Kept 7 years after the payment date.
  • RevenueCat’s record of your purchases (our purchase-verification provider) is kept as part of the purchase records above; the device, analytics and advertising identifiers on it are removed when you delete your account.
  • The one-way device key for the introductory free credits, where one was recorded for an account created before the subscription plans (and the attestation device key, if the app was verified by device attestation), no longer linked to the account. Why: fraud prevention — a deleted account cannot be recreated to receive the introductory free credits again. Kept 2 years after the device last used it.
  • AI cost records of past commissions (no images) are kept only as anonymous cost totals: every link to your account and commissions is removed at deletion.
  • Google Analytics keeps user-level usage-analytics and purchase event data for 14 months (aggregate reports that identify no one are kept longer). They are not linked to your account on our service and are not deleted automatically; ask us (above) and we will request their deletion from Google.
  • Apple’s and Google’s own records, under their policies, and anything retained by OpenAI as described in the Privacy Policy.

Pieces you saved to your photo library or shared, and your device’s own backups, are not affected — delete those yourself. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription and does not request a refund. Cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account (iPhone and iPad: Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions; Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions), or it keeps renewing; refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
